The Tour 2010 commences June 2010 from the community beach in Parksville, B.C. The chosen cycle route will engage as many CPC Corporate facilities as will be logistically possible while in progress. Each office to be engaged by the Tour will be notified in advance, and those offices may decide to conduct local fund raising initiatives in advance of the Tour arrival (these can include bbq's, pancake breakfasts and the like). Tour progress, log, and photos will be available via blackberry to website, and employees involved in visitation can view on-line information related to their own experience with the activities at each facility. Pre-selected employees at CPC facilities will be encouraged to bicycle a segment within their community. Fundraising progress will also be logged via website, and contributors will have an opportunity to web-post pledges publicly or anonymously. Tour progress, log and photos will also be available via links through CPC Corporate website to garner Canadian public interest.
The Tour 2010 destination is Neils Harbour, Nova Scotia (Atlantic Coast). A postcard from Parksville, BC will be carried and delivered to the office staff at the Neils Harbour Post Office, on or about the first week in October 2010. Iris Hayden, the lead-hand employee at the Parksville Post Office, has a sister, Laura Rose, residing in Neils Harbour to whom the Card will be delivered.
