Success & Legacy

With anticipated success of 'Out of the Shadows Tour 2010--- we see thee rise', the foundation can be formed for future fund raising opportunities. Canada Post employees across the country may elect to participate in an annual 'same day-one day-weekend day' event designed to encourage short bicycle tour participation/awareness and fundraising for Canada Post Foundation for Mental Health. The 'Out of the Shadows Tour 2011- we see thee rise' program, for example, could allow for employees to enrol on-line for a fee for a short tour within their own communities; followed by opportunities for fellowship upon completion of the short tour. The on-line fee could include a commemorative jersey or t-shirt, or many sorts of bicycle clothing merchandising.

First Annual Day Tour 'Out of the Shadows 2009' October 3, 2009, 40 km 'Nanoose Loop' cycle and celebration

27 riders (not all on time...) in all cycled the scenic 'Nanoose Loop', on a beautiful fall day, complete with amazing sunshine, bald eagles overhead, and deer grazing along the route. Fun and challenging for some! $875 was raised toward the Canada Post Foundation for Mental Health; and the generous participants had fun in the process! This day was the first day of Mental Illness Awareness Week. Out of the Shadows Tour 2010-we see thee rise will build awareness as the tour progresses across Canada between June and September 2010 (culminating in a single day ride next October upon return to Parksville, B.C). The National Tour plans to gain awareness toward an annual single day tour in communities across Canada. A good number of the riders on 'the first inaugral tour' are enthusiastic about the October 2010 Tour!!
